6月27日，國際學術期刊《建筑和建筑材料》（Construction and Building Materials）撤回一篇虛構作者的研究論文。
因捏造一名新加坡南洋理工大學研究人員作為署名作者，江南大學環境與土木工程學院8篇論文被撤回。
2023年6月27日，國際學術期刊《建筑和建筑材料》（Construction and Building Materials）在線發表撤稿聲明稱，因虛構了一個實際上并不存在的署名作者，在接到新加坡南洋理工大學科研誠信部門的投訴后，編輯部撤回了該期刊2022年5月5日在線發表的論文《含有超吸收性聚合物（SAP）和聯合膨脹劑（UEA）的超高性能工程水泥基復合材料（UHP-ECC）的收縮和拉伸性能》（Shrinkage and tensile properties of ultra-high-performance engineered cementitious composites (UHP-ECC) containing superabsorbent polymers (SAP) and united expansion agent (UEA)）。
涉事論文的通訊作者是位于中國江蘇省無錫市的江南大學環境與土木工程學院副教授張聰。
7月3日，江南大學環境與土木工程學院相關部門工作人員稱，張聰已離職。
江南大學黨委宣傳部相關工作人員向澎湃科技表示，該事件目前尚在調查中，拒絕透露更多信息。
值得注意的是，截至2023年6月27日，已有3個國際學術期刊以完全相同的撤稿聲明，撤回8篇論文。涉事論文的通訊作者均為張聰，其署名單位為江南大學環境與土木工程學院。
目前，張聰的個人信息已從江南大學環境與土木工程學院官網“師資隊伍”欄中刪除。該網頁上其他信息顯示，張聰曾為該學院青年教師，科研方向為綠色節能裝配式建筑方向。
張聰2019年發表在《復合材料學報》期刊上的論文標注個人信息為“博士，副教授，碩士生導師”。
前述8篇論文的撤稿聲明均為，“應主編的要求，涉事論文已被撤回。在南洋理工大學（NTU）科研誠信辦公室提出的投訴后，經調查確定，涉事論文的共同署名作者 ‘Toshiyuki Bangi ’是虛構的；該名字和其所屬單位是由通訊作者添加到論文中的。南洋理工大學與這一欺騙行為沒有任何關系，前述被虛構的作者被分配了一個hotmail.com電子郵件地址。”
“操縱作者身份是一種嚴重違反出版道德的行為，它歪曲研究記錄，令涉事研究工作的各個方面都受到質疑。”
“通訊作者已經承認了這一欺騙行為，并理解撤回的必要性。”
此外，前述8篇論文都在致謝中稱，相關研究受到中國國家自然科學基金（51908247）和江蘇省土木工程環境災變與結構可靠性重點實驗室開放項目（KFJJ202007）的資助。
國家自然科學基金相關網頁顯示，2019年，江南大學作為依托單位，張聰作為項目負責人，獲得25萬元資助，項目名稱為“混雜纖維自密實混凝土隧道管片火災高溫爆裂機制與力學性能退化規律研究”。
